| DESERT PALACES is a 4 channel video installation, part of FRAGMENTS OF UNUSED TIME series. It was inspired by sublime Arizona, New Mexico and Utah landscapes as well as Karl Friedrich Schinkel's set designs for Mozart's "The Magic Flute" performance at the Royal Opera House, Berlin on 18 January 1816, specifically by his design for starry sky palace for the Queen of the Night. It explores Anima Mundi concept (a pure ethereal spirit diffused throughout all nature that animates all matter in the same sense in which the soul was thought to animate the human). Soundtrack is composed by Victoria Jordanova. |
